Future of Amidst Ministries

Hello and happy July!

I wanted to come on here and write a bit of an update about the future of Amidst Ministries, and some of the things I have been thinking about/praying about. I was going to film a video for you all - but decided a blog post felt easier and allows people to read it at their own pace.

As you know, I started Amidst Ministries as a business that created resources for youth workers. I have a background in youth work, and loved the opportunities to remain in that field at my own pace. I decided to focus on taboo topics, as this is something I have always felt called to - and I wanted to help equip others to teach on these topics.

I was super excited about this - but I found that this just wasn’t something that youth workers desired. This isn’t because they aren’t needed (because these sorts of teachings are desperately needed), it is often because youth workers simply don’t want to teach on these topics.

I think part of my mission was to encourage them to do so, and to light a fire in them for these topics - but it also has to come from them, and from those I have spoken to - they just don’t feel it is something they want to teach on right now.

I will always keep these resources on our website, and I will continue to make any I feel called to - but I have taken a pause on making resources, as I just found although there is a huge gap in the market for these topics - people aren’t ready to teach on them, and so my energy is better spent elsewhere. If you ever feel the passion to teach on these, please do download the resource. You will not regret it - young people need us to speak the unspoken.

This may not come as a surprise to you, as I haven’t made resources in a while - apart from the Holiday Club resource.

I wrote our first devotional, “Grace Upon Grace”, simply because it was something that I wanted to write, and I honestly loved writing it, I felt so inspired and excited by it. I then wrote a second one, “From Addiction to Authenticity,” which again, I loved writing, and felt my calling for taboo topics came in handy here.

I have had some great reviews from customers about these devotionals, and I prayed long and hard about it - and felt this was the route God was calling me.

I looked into other devotional websites, and found that a subscription service was something that people were engaging with and so I thought I would also try to go down that route.

It took a while to set it all up, and figure out how exactly I wanted it to look.

As I have explained in my devotionals, Hebrews 6:19 kept popping up throughout this process, and I knew God was speaking to me, and so I wanted to base these devotionals on the idea of being anchored in God, and that is why it is called Anchored Devotionals.

I genuinely love writing these devotionals each week, God speaks to me so much through them and whilst writing them. I love the community it is building - that I can connect with my subscribers throughout the week and get to share God’s light with them.

However, I need your help and feedback. When I originally posted about the Anchored subscription, I had great feedback and people were excited, but it has died down now - and I wanted to know if people had feedback on why this may have happened, or how to make it more accessible. Do people think it is too expensive? Do people want more devotionals? One a day, maybe? How do you think I should advertise it and push it? Does anyone have any contacts I would be able to talk to who may be able to help?

I am willing to hear any feedback - and please don’t worry about offending me, I want to improve and I want to see Amidst Ministries continue to thrive, and so your feedback would be helping with this.

Please email amidstministries@gmail.com to give your feedback or comments.

If you have not already subscribed, and would like to - please do! I have so much to share, and God is really blessing these devotionals.

Please do be praying for this venture, it is so much fun and I feel so blessed to get to call it my job - but it can only continue if I am able to sustain a viewership and reach people.

Please also pray that the calling for Amidst Ministries is clear, and I am able to refine my vision to therefore spread the Gospel in the way God desires me to.

Exciting times, eh?

I can’t thank you all enough for your unending support, please do take some time to send your feedback across, and subscribe if you are able to.

If you ever have a resource or devotional you would like written - please simply email and we will do this.

Thank you all.

God bless,

Izzy Brown
